Who I Serve

I currently work with children (age 4+), pre-teens, and adult women (18-45). I am especially passionate about recovery from ADHD, anxiety, autism, and adjustment. Many of my adult clients are also cycle breakers, doing the painful and purposeful work of establishing new patterns in their families. My child and adolescent clients are often working on skills to manage their emotions and have healthy relationships and find personal success. I believe all brains are beautiful and provide a neurodivergent and trauma-informed environment that allows for movement, laughter, fidgeting, music, soft textures, beverages, and whatever else makes therapy a comfortable space to do hard work.

How I Work

I believe I have skills and strategies that I have learned through education, experience, and research, but I believe YOU are the expert on your life, your journey, and your family. I want to know the stories behind the people I work with. I seek to make my clients feel fully known and accepted. I believe we grow from seeing our strengths and capacities, not our weaknesses. I draw from a variety of approaches to work with my clients. Those approaches include: person-centered and child-led, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy skills, expressive arts, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, strengths-based, dialectical behavioral therapy, and collaborative problem-solving with a solution-focused mindset. I believe in a holistic approach, which includes addressing basic needs and daily living outside the therapy space to improve overall chances at wellness. I believe in humor, humanity, and showing up as exactly who you are. Let’s collaborate on your well-being!

Who I Am

I grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, primarily as a Transylvania County native. I love spending time with my people, adoring animals, trying new restaurants, discovering new music, and getting drawn into a good show. I studied business at Elon University and counseling at Western Carolina University, and believe both of those allow me to support the mission of this collaborative. I’ve been in the helping profession for almost 19 years, and still learn something new every day. You’ll see me show up in our therapy space in a casual way because we’re all just humans doing our best, and my main priorities in therapy are authenticity and connection.

Insurance/Payment
I am in network with Aetna (including State Health Plan), Blue Cross Blue Shield, MedCost, Optum/United HealthCare, and four forms of NC Medicaid: Amerihealth Caritas, Healthy Blue, United HealthCare Community Plan, and WellCare. I also accept self-pay clients and can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots through Open Path Collective.
